The QA Manager ensures that all the company services and activities meet and maintain set standards. The QA Manager develops the procedures within the organisation in conjunction with the department head to ensure compliance with quality standard requirements. They will carry out inspections and keep detailed records to evidence the work is carried out to the highest possible quality.  


Day to day activities may include:

  • Developing company quality procedures, standards and specifications
  • Matching processes to standards
  • Co-ordinating activity required to meet quality standards
  • Conducting internal audits and inspections
  • Writing Management and technical reports
  • Collecting and sharing statistics
  • Following legal regulations
  • Chairing external audit meetings with the certified quality organisation for the business

As a QA Manager you could progress to a more senior role and become a Project Director or alternatively become a self-employed consultant.

Salaries for this role are dependent on experience. Examples are as follows:

  • Newly trained QA Manager £25,000 - £30,000
  • Trained with experience QA Manager £30,000 to £45,000
  • Senior QA Manager £45,000 to £55,000
