As a SHE Manager you will be responsible for best practice in Health, Safety and Environmental procedures to be carried out to comply with legislation. The role is responsible for devising policies and practices to achieve best practice in Health, Safety and Environment.  


Day to day activities may include:

  • Ensure the Health, Safety and Environmental standards are met within the organisation
  • Investigation of accidents and near misses, including generating reports which include lessons learnt, and actions required to negate the possibility of the accident reoccurring
  • Identifying potential risks to avoid an accident happening
  • Completing risk assessments and site inspections
  • Suggesting improvements to working practices and processes
  • Ensuring staff understand procedure to achieve a safe and healthy working environment
  • Advising and training of staff on best working practice
  • Monitoring environmental impacts
  • Liaising with relevant stakeholders and inspectors
  • Developing and reviewing health, safety and environmental policies and procedures
  • Compiling statistics, reports and presentations

What can I expect to earn?

Salaries for this role are dependent on experience, they will range from £25,000 to £50,000 once qualified. Examples are as follows:


  • Newly trained SHE Advisor £25,000 - £30,000
  • Experienced SHE Manager £30,000 to £35,000
  • Senior or Chartered SHE Manager £35,000 to £50,000
